When the contract of Network Talent (NT) expired, her team was informed that the contract was up for review. Her team was surprised because they were confident that NT would not have to undergo scrutiny. After all, the network provided NT the opportunity to grow as an artist and was understanding of her lifestyle.
As days of waiting turned to week then months, NT’s camp became restless. Time was moving and work during the pandemic was hard. Moreover, NT could not commit to anything as the management gave her hope and she wanted to be ready when plans turn positive. The development was disappointing. The offer had a significant cut in her fees, which NT could not understand. Allegedly, that was the stand for contract renewal for the artists, as the pandemic was cited as the reason. Still, the network was her priority and NT waited.
During the waiting period, NT saw that the network was hiring new talents and some had higher fees. Those factors seemed hard to justify if the network could not give her what she deserved. The last straw then happened. When NT’s team followed up their negotiations, the management was firm on the pay cut. The lesser talent fee and the waiting period were enough for NT’s team to find her a new home.
