During a lull in their work, Worried Talent (WT) asked Uplifting Adviser (UA) on her thoughts on the ongoing movement of talents from one network to another. UA asked why WT was concerned, as her status seems fine with the management. WT responded that her worry came from the newly hired talents. With their strength in acting, WT pondered if she’d ever be considered for a series. WT revealed she has not heard anything about an acting project.
UA replied that given the circumstances, she should not be choosy with her network assignments. WT should consider herself lucky as she has work, unlike many of her contemporaries. The prevailing mood was survival of the talented. Hence, UA encouraged WT to focus on the skills needed for her job. If she’s given hosting or dancing assignments, then she ought to excel.
WT shared that her first love is acting and with no series in sight, she feels empty and sad. UA then said that acting jobs are given to the highly talented actors. Further, UA stressed WT did not belong to the ranks of award-winning and critically acclaimed actors. UA did not realize that she said a tactless statement to WT. Nonetheless, UA reminded WT to be thankful and to perform her best in her current role. If she falters, she might be replaced.
